How to install the Aligner License Server

To get the license key server up and running, you'll need to do the following:
  1. Download the installer for the license key server from our website at:
    http://www.codoncode.com/aligner/licenseserverhelp.htm
  2. Run the installer
  3. After the installer has finished, run the license key server. An icon for the license key server should be on your desktop - just double click on it.
You will then see a dialog that starts with:
"The Aligner License Server requires a license key to run."

At the bottom of this dialog, you will see:
"Your computer ID is: xxxxxx"

Write down this computer ID and e-mail it to
"support (at) codoncode (dot) com". You can then click on the "Quit" button to exit the license key server.

Please note that the Aligner License Server should only be installed on one computer which acts as the server. You do not need to install the Aligner License Server on every computer that you want to use CodonCode Aligner on.

If you have purchased a license or talked to us about a trial,
we will then send you a license key for the Aligner License Server & instructions on what to do next.

Hello,

Does anyone has any experience installing the Aligner License Server on Linux using Wine ? My lab's data server is on linux.
So far I installed wine and used it to execute the installer for windows. I opened the proper ports (although the firewall is disabled). And then... fail : "Aligner License Server database files are unusable".

Is there any one with some who has succeded this task ?

Using the Aligner License Server on Linux is not supported. Even if you would get it to run on an emulator initially, you would encounter problems in the future.
