If you are using an older version of CodonCode Aligner, or need to change the memory before the release of version 3.5.1, please follow these instructions:
- Quit CodonCode Aligner (if the program is running).
- Open a Finder window for the "CodonCode Aligner" folder (usually in /Applications).
- Right-click (or control-click) on the "CodonCode Aligner" application icon in this folder.
- Choose "Show Package Contents" from the popup menu. This will open a new window.
- Double-click on the "Contents" folder to open it.
- Double-click on the file "Info.plist" (you may not see the .plist extension). If you have the Developer Tools installed, the file will open in the Property List Editor program; if not, you can edit it using the TextEdit program.
- Locate a line that contains the text
- Code: Select all
-Xms32m -Xmx256M
- Code: Select all
-Xms32m -Xmx512M
- Save the changes.
- Start CodonCode Aligner. If the program does not start, you may need to reduce the amount of memory you assigned.
