If CodonCode Aligner can connect to the License Server, licenses will usually be returned automatically when you quit CodonCode Aligner. However, on rare occasions, CodonCode Aligner is unable to return a license even if it is connected to the network and can communicate with the License Server.
Please note that all regular licenses will expire automatically after 2 hours and will then be free for reuse.
If you are using CodonCode Aligner 3.0.1 or newer, you can free up your license after 10 minutes. To do this, please wait 10 minutes after trying to return the license (after you quit Aligner and it did not free up the license), then start and quit Aligner again. If you are using CodonCode Aligner 3.0.1 or newer and Aligner can connect to the License Server, this will return the license.
If you experience problems when returning licenses, please make sure that you are using the most current version of the Aligner License Server (1.2.4) and of CodonCode Aligner (3.6.1) if possible. You can use version 1.2.4 of the License Server with CodonCode Aligner 1.6 and newer. To use CodonCode Aligner 3.6.1, you need a current update and support agreement. Update instructions for the License Server and CodonCode Aligner can be found at: viewforum.php?f=4
When contacting us about problems that concern returning licenses, please include the log files from License Server and from the client computer that runs CodonCode Aligner where the license is still shown as in use. The log files are in the "Logs" folder, which is located in the folder “Aligner License Server” for the License Server, and in the folder "CodonCode Aligner" for Aligner. This folder should be at the place where you installed the License Server or CodonCode Aligner (usually C:\Program Files\” on Windows, and “/Applications” on Mac OS X).
