This page describes a workaround for users who want to use CodonCode Aligner 1.6.3 or older on OS X 10.4 or 10.5. Please note version 1.6.3 and older were release a long time before OS X 10.5. On some computers with OS X 10.5, CodonCode Aligner versions older than 2.0.2 cannot be used at all. If you are concerned about Leopard compatibility, we strongly suggest to upgrade to the current version.
- If CodonCode Aligner is running, quit Aligner.
- Open a Finder window and navigate to where CodonCode Aligner is installed (usually in /Applications/CodonCode Aligner/).
- Right-click (or control-click) and choose "Show package contents" from the popup menu. This will open a new window.
- Double-click the "Contents" folder.
- Double-click on the file "Info.plist". This should open the file in TextEdit.
- Near the bottom, you can see this string:
<string>1.4*</string>
Change the '*' to a '+', so it reads:
<string>1.4+</string> - Save the file and close TextEdit.
